Building International Cooperation and Network
Promoting the attraction of visual media filming and production through the establishment of a national and international network of visual media, we aim for the improvement and prosperity of the filming industry by strengthening the system of collaboration between the Gun (District), Gu (Borough), and similar administrative divisions in relation to support for filming. As a member organization of the AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International), KFCIN (Korean Film Commissions & Industry Network), and AFCNet (Asian Film Commissions Network) we participate in the international events and conferences held by national and international film industry organizations and groups to discuss the current state of the film industry as well as possible urgent agendas, promoting Incheon’s diverse locations and support policies in the process.
Operation of Incheon Film Archive
This is an open space for citizens that was made public by the Incheon Film Commission in December 2017. Located on the first floor of the Incheon Film Commission’s building at 17, Jemullyang-ro 206beon-gil, Jung-gu, Incheon; it has been named the Hallyu Film Content Collection or the Incheon Film Archive. Holding around 500 titles of national and international DVDs and Blu-Ray Discs, and more than 250 volumes of film-related texts, the collection regularly expands its materials. It also holds the scripts and scenarios, storyboards, still-cuts from the film set, autographed posters from the cast, and other related goods of major Incheon-filmed works, as well as an iMac with editing and post-production capabilities. The archive is used as the base for Incheon’s visual media culture through educational and experiential programs for the citizens, and as a means to promote the Incheon Film Commission’s services.
Promotion of the Incheon Film Commission
The Incheon Film Commission promotes not only its brand, but also numerous subsidiary programs for the citizens of Incheon and the film industry through outlets like the press, media, and SNS. The aim is to enhance the reputation of the city of Incheon both nationally and internationally by spreading awareness of its multilateral administrative aid and support enterprises for the attraction of contents, and to ultimately raise the value of the city. We hope to foster an image of friendliness and perceptiveness by sharing with the citizens the developments of local filming support and hosting services such as the diaspora film festival and free screenings of diverse films for the enjoyment of the public.
